Due to the outbreak of Covid-19 around the world, the province of Ontario declared a general lock-down. During this period, the ministry of health recommended that all non-urgent eye care be postponed due to concerns related to COVID-19. Government and health care officials continue to encourage people to avoid any unnecessary visits to hospitals or health clinics. As part of the process to re-open businesses in Ontario we have decided to slowly extend our hours of operation in addition to providing all essential services.  As a result, we have re-opened our location for eye exams, contact lenses, and all your eye-wear needs. We are also implementing advanced safety measures so we can safely serve your needs and reduce the strain on our eye health system.

The reopening of Temkin Opticians post COVID-19 pandemic all safety precautions will strictly remain in place. The following precautions will be in place: Check-in & social distancing precaution. Every client is mandated to answer certain questions regarding general well being and recent travel.  Sanitizer stations will be available throughout the store. Clinical face masks will be used by all staff.  Customers will be given sanitized trays while shopping for frames. In adherence to social distancing, the appropriate distance will be maintained and minimal interaction between staff and clients will be encouraged. There will be an increased rate of disinfecting in areas involving high movement activities such as door handles, counter-tops, and all equipment used during eye exams, adjustments, and fittings.  All personnel and staff also undergo frequent and monitored washing of hands. Disinfectants and sanitizers will be placed in areas visible and easily accessible to clients and staff.  We encourage our customers to call in advance and schedule appointments with any of our staff. By encouraging appointments, we can regulate the amount of customers in the store at once.
